The Driftwood Spars is a beautiful pub with an AA 1 Rosette, situated in Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes, Cornwall. It provides a relaxed environment where customers can enjoy the traditional Cornish pub, with its local history and ceiling beams. The Driftwood Spars also has a modern restaurant overlooking the sea. The location is not only perfect for relaxed summer weddings, it also ideal to host a beautiful snug winter wedding. As well as weddings we host live music, theatre (including the Drifty Panto), comedy, murder mystery and Faulty Tower's dining experience, plus more.

To cover this work load we have 2 co-ordinators, who also assist to cover the B & B reception. We are looking to recruit a wedding/function co-ordinator who will work with our existing co-ordinator to the management of all wedding/function activity. The successful candidate will be able to sell the Driftwood Spars to potential customers wishing to hold an event, but also develop their own ideas of events to encourage customers to come to the business. This will include talking to customers face to face, via email, social media and in person.

The successful candidate will be in charge of organising the event/wedding with the customer and then be responsible on the day to ensure that everything goes to plan.

Ideally we are looking for someone with previous experience, however if you believe you have the right attitude, hospitality experience and transferable skills we would love to hear from you.

This role includes evenings/weekends & bank holidays.

Main Duties:

* To be responsible for the management of all wedding activity and social media and marketing activity in relation to wedding at the Driftwood Spars and ensure that a robust plan for increased income in this area is successfully realised.
* To respond promptly to enquiries with attractive and competitive quotes and work closely with the front of house staff, head chef and Manager to put menus and drinks packages together for events and ensure the appropriate service level is delivered for each event.

* Transferable skills and proven knowledge of events, marketing and social media in events
* Management skills
* Dynamic & energetic
* Good food & drink knowledge, including wine & cocktails
* Excellent organisation skills
* Flexible and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with evolving priorities
* Willingness to go the extra mile
* Team player
* Experience & Passion for hospitality and events
* Strong Social media skills
* Be able to delegate to staff to ensure the smooth running of all events
