As the company continues to grow and invest in advanced tooling capabilities, we’re seeking a skilled Toolmaker to become a vital part of their engineering team. This isn’t just another workshop role — you’ll be building and refining the tooling that underpins world-class engineering. You’ll take on challenging projects involving intricate fixtures, tight tolerances, and innovative tooling solutions that push the limits of precision manufacturing. Roles and responsibilities: • Craft, assemble, and refine precision tools, jigs, dies, and fixtures to exacting standards. • Translate detailed engineering drawings and CAD models into practical, high-precision tooling. • Operate a diverse range of toolroom equipment, including manual and CNC lathes, mills, EDMs, and surface grinders. • Support continuous production by repairing, modifying, and improving existing tools. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, production, and quality to optimize tooling performance. • Conduct detailed inspections and ensure all tools meet stringent functional and dimensional requirements. • Maintain accurate documentation of all tooling, designs, and changes. Skills and Qualifications: • A time-served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or similar. • Solid experience as a Toolmaker in a precision manufacturing environment. • Skilled in both manual and CNC machining, with a strong understanding of materials and processes. • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and 3D models. • High level of competency with inspection tools and precision measurement techniques. • A natural problem-solver with great attention to detail and a drive for quality.
