Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity are the official charity of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). The Fundraising Coordinator is an integral part of the NHS Charity team. We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors and the local community to choose to support Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity. The post-holder will contribute to the successful performance of the charity by fundraising through a range of income streams and providing a positive and engaging supporter experience that champions the values and ethos of the charity.
We are looking for an experienced and driven individual to join our small, busy team as we grow and shape our long-term NHS charity strategy.
Main duties of the job
The Fundraising Coordinator is an integral part of the Charity team, having knowledge and experience of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors and the local community to choose to support CHFT Charity. The post-holder will contribute to the successful performance of the charity by developing and managing a variety fundraising campaigns and initiatives to develop range of income streams and providing a positive and engaging ‘supporter’ experience that champions the values and ethos of the charity.
The post is an important link between the charity, CHFT employees and the local community. The post-holder will build an understanding of NHS donor audiences and their motivations to give and will deliver a seamless and unique donor experience to every individual connecting with the charity, ensuring that respectful, genuine and engaging relationships are formed.
The post-holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with CHFT colleagues and will excel working in a creative and innovative environment. The post-holder will be expected to work independently and autonomously, mobilising fundraising projects and initiatives, and in doing so ensure they are working within Trust guidelines and charity law to safeguard the reputation and standing of the CHFT Charity.
Working for our organisation
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity are the official charity of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). The charity operates under the NHS Foundation Trust corporate trusteeship, with a Charitable Funds Committee (CFC) to manage day to day operations.
The charity raises, manages and distributes funds on behalf of CHFT in order to enhance and support patient care/experience and provide funding for projects, initiatives and equipment that are over and above the remit of NHS funding. We’re here to bring moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most. We help our Trust and our colleagues to do even more to treat and care for patients. We push the limits of what is possible where the NHS is unable to.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* Degree level qualification or with equivalent professional qualification and/or experience
* Institute of Fundraising Certificate or training related to the charitable sector.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Demonstrable track record of successfully planning, implementing and delivery of fundraising events, activities, initiatives and campaigns.
* Proven track record and significant experience of meeting and exceeding income targets within a fundraising role
* Specialist knowledge on community fundraising, soliciting major gifts, legacy giving and/or developing corporate partnerships.
* Experience of stewardship of supporters and developing relationships.
* Knowledge of the Charity Commission, Code of Fundraising Practice and Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
* An understanding of GDPR, and its implications on direct marketing and donor stewardship.
* Evidence of delivering integrated communications campaigns, including external and internal communications.
* Experience of events management, particularly within a fundraising setting
* Ability to complete relevant activities to deadline and where relevant manage budgets effectively.
* Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of online fundraising platforms, social media management and website Content Management Systems
* A methodical approach to working.
* Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
* Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
* An understanding of HMRC’s Gift Aid policies and procedures
