We are currently supporting a growing engineering consultancy in Chepstow that is looking to hire a Junior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding team.
This role is ideal for someone with early-career experience in civil engineering or infrastructure who is looking to build on their technical skills while gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of project delivery.
Working closely with experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to the delivery of infrastructure and development projects, supporting both technical work and on-site project activities.
The Role
As a Junior Engineer, you will assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering projects across a range of sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the engineering team with the delivery of infrastructure and development projects
* Assisting with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation for clients
* Supporting communication with stakeholders, contractors and adopting authorities
* Attending site inspections and supporting site supervision activities
* Assisting with project cost monitoring and basic cost analysis
* Supporting the process of infrastructure adoption with relevant authorities (e.g. highways and drainage)
* Contributing to ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, cost and quality expectations
What We’re Looking For:
* Early-career experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or development projects
* Experience or familiarity with site inspections or construction environments
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience or familiarity with any of the following would be beneficial:
* AutoCAD or Civil 3D
* Drainage design tools such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
* Exposure to highways or drainage adoption processes (e.g. S38 / S104)
* Experience supporting infrastructure or land development projects
