 
        
        Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced registerednurse (child) to join the Paediatric Stem Cell Transplant team at LeedsGeneral Infirmary as a Clinical Nurse Specialist on a 1-year fixed termcontract/Secondment.
Thepost will involve working on the in-patient transplant unit and outpatients,supporting the child and family throughout the allogeneic stem celltransplant pathway, providing expert clinical care, coordination andeducation. The role includes managing a caseload, providing expert care andsupport to the patients and families through the transplant process,supporting the development of education for staff and families, contributingto audit, quality improvement, servicedevelopment and delivery of key performance indicators. The role will involvemultidisciplinary collaboration and excellent communication skills.
Thisis a dynamic role within a highly specialised service, ideal for a nurse withspecialist clinical knowledge and skills, excellent communication,organisational and leadership skills, and a passion for deliveringhigh-quality, patient-centred care. Some experience of implementing changeswithin services would be beneficial.

Main duties of the job
TheJobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. Thejobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs,the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and thesetting of standards of care.
Thejobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to aspecific patient group and will contribute to the development of thespeciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use ofresources.
The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and wholeservice working. As a role model theywill promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality,effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training andeducation to staff groups, patients and families/carers.

Experience

 * Significant and recent relevant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post registration experience within speciality.

Qualifications
 * Registered Nurse (RN Child for childrens areas (Level 1 or 2)
 * Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment
 * Evidence of continued professional development
 * Willing to undergo training as necessary
 * Degree Level Education or evidence of working towards.
