Medicines Management Assistant (Intensive Care Unit)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member, working at The Royal Oldham Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician, with good communication and teamwork skills to carry out a medicines management and optimisation role on our busy Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities
* Carry out patient medication histories on the Critical Care unit as part of the Critical Care pharmacy team.
* Manage and order medications and ward stock lists.
* Assist with audits and provide advice to ward-based staff.
* Counsel patients and provide medication-related information.
* Assist with dispensary work, clinical trials and mentoring.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure.
* Good eye for detail, ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and deliver high standards in a patient-focused service.
* Reliable and adaptable to change with excellent people skills to communicate with a wide range of professionals, patients and relatives.
* Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative, work under pressure and contribute to high standards of patient care.
* Experience/qualifications to meet Band 5; if not, appointment to Band 4 Pharmacy Technician with support to progress to Band 5.
Role progression and working pattern
This is an exciting role and service that you will be able to develop, working as part of the Critical Care pharmacy team, alongside the pharmacists and a medicines management assistant.
There will be a requirement to participate in a 7 day working pattern, including extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
