Refuse / Recycling Loader Work for - Huntingdonshire District Council Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 6:00 am - 2:00 pm Pay: £13.64 per hour Key Responsibilities: * Collect domestic and commercial waste/recycling from designated locations (bins, bags, boxes, etc.). * Operate the bin lift and vehicle equipment safely; report any faults to the driver. * Assist the driver with daily vehicle checks and report defects during the round. * Ensure collections are completed neatly; clean any spillages immediately. * Collect bulky waste items as directed. * Deliver and replace wheeled bins; leave them safely with correct information for residents. * Deliver new waste sacks as required. * Assist with vehicle manoeuvring during collections and at disposal points. * Follow instructions from the Refuse Recycling Driver at all times. * Respond to public queries; provide basic information or direct appropriately. * Follow waste policies, including bin rejection procedures and required notifications. * Attach service-related leaflets or notices to bins when required. * Support team members, including new and agency staff. * Report near misses, accidents, and incidents promptly. * Assist with record-keeping and provide information for in-cab systems. * Work in line with risk assessments and safe working practices. * Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.
