Senior Theatre Practitioner - Scrub
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Contract: 40 Hours Week Permanent
Working Pattern: 4 days, between Monday and Saturday 07:30 18.00. You will work 1 Saturday per month.
Salary: £36,267 - £41,000 per annum depending on experience

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will play an important role within our multi-disciplinary theatre team. Alongside maintaining excellent scrub practice, you will help support and mentor junior colleagues, contribute to a positive team culture, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical care within the theatre department.
This opportunity is best suited to a practitioner with proven scrub experience, who is confident working within the scrub role and is passionate about developing both their own skills and those of the team around them. Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Scrub Practitioner you will:
Act as scrub practitioner for general and orthopaedic surgical procedures.
Lead and mentor junior members of the team, deputising for the Lead Theatre Practitioner when necessary.
Communicating effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging department to ensure efficient patient care.
Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required. To include equipment and supplies required for specific procedures, ensuring appropriate use of resources and minimal waste.
Assessing patient care requirements, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner with KIMS Hospital you will be a patient orientated practitioner with strong team building skills and a collaborative approach to achieving goals.
Essential
Be a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
Be proficient in leading the management of surgical lists.
Have experience in planning, organising and running lists within the theatre suite.
Experience of supervising staff and scheduling operating lists
Desirable
Post registration qualification as Practice Supervisor or Assessor
Post registration qualification as Surgical First Assistant
Post registration clinical experience within the perioperative environment, in Scrub and Anaesthetics, in an acute hospital (NHS or Private).
