Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Practitioner to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing and driving the educational and developmental activities within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff. As a Lead Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing environment that promotes the growth and development of children.
Responsibilities
1. Manage daily operations within the playroom, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for all children.
2. Drive the implementation of educational programmes that align with early childhood education standards.
3. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns.
4. Lead and mentor a team of practitioners, fostering professional development and encouraging best practices in childcare.
5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of care and education.
6. Develop engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs of children aged 3-5 years.
7. Collaborate with external agencies when necessary to support children's individual needs.
Qualifications
8. Minimum of 3 years qualifying experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
9. An HNC or SVQ Level 3 as minimum in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is required. Candidate must also be willing to work towards BA in Childhood Practice.
10. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
11. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
12. A deep understanding of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
13. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
14. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth through play-based learning experiences.
