Role Overview
Oxford is seeking an operations lead to drive the delivery of the Laboratory for AI Security Research (LASR), a flagship programme at the heart of a national effort involving government, academia and industry. You’ll manage the full operational portfolio: governance, reporting, financial oversight, legal and contractual frameworks, and programme-wide planning. You’ll work closely with senior academic and professional leaders, serve as the primary interface with the funder and external partners, and help shape internal processes to keep a complex, high‑stakes programme running smoothly. Expect a fast-moving environment with minimal precedent, where good judgement, autonomy and clear communication matter.
Qualifications
* Strong financial and analytical competence.
* Experience working at a strategic level with research collaborations or funders.
* Track record of steering complex projects to successful delivery.
* Comfortable with sensitive information, negotiation skills, and partnership building.
* Ability to keep multiple teams aligned.
* Experience with higher education administration, research studentships or AI‑related programmes is an advantage.
