Job Description
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in leading the kitchen at The Druid Inn, Gorsedd, Holywell. A twenty minute drive from Chester City Centre.
The Druid is our 4th pub and opened in March 2024, after an extensive refurbishment with a brand new induction kitchen that creates top quality food.
It’s in a lovely place too - Gorsedd and the surrounding villages are charming and the people that live there definitely deserve a really good pub. The menu is on the traditional side and predominantly British, with allowance for some flair, using fresh produce with an emphasis on quality.
This position would suit an experienced Sous Chef used to working in a busy pub environment with good knowledge of fresh food operations, who is well organised, a good communicator and loves the buzz of a busy service.
You will be responsible for running the daily food operation alongside the Head Chef. Leading a full chef team whilst developing and mentoring junior chefs, completing rotas and adhering to HACCP documentation and processes. You must be strong in cost control and stock management.
You will work alongside the Druid Inn’s Head Chef and General Manager and our Group Head Chef to create new dishes and develop relationships with suppliers to make sure we’re getting the best ingredients and achieving GP targets.
