This is a part timerole of 22.5 hours (salary quoted will be pro rata)

Then this senior Children's Occupational Therapy position within social care could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As aSenior Occupational Therapist in the Children's Occupational Therapy team, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and young people with complex health, social, and housing needs in the community. You'll use your specialist clinical expertise to carry out assessments, recommend tailored interventions, and provide both simple and complex equipment and adaptation solutions to maximiseindependence and safety.

You'll manage a varied caseload of complex cases as an autonomous practitioner, drawing on advanced problem solving and reasoning skills. Working closely with families, carers, and multi disciplinary colleagues across health, housing, and social care, you'll deliver a seamless, child centred service that supports meaningful outcomes.

In this role, you'll also contribute to service development, provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, and act as a specialist resource within the team. Your expertise will help shape high quality practice across therapy services while ensuring safe, effective, and innovative ways of working.

You would be joining a well-established team where respect, team working and a supportive environment are key to a successful future.

We operate a flexible way of working over the week, you will manage your own diary and there is no weekend working. We are mostly agile and work from home, whilst using the office as an official work base.

Our wider Occupational Therapy service supports adults across areas such as moving and handling, adaptations, Technology Enabled Care, Learning Disability, and OT Duty triage. This post sits within our dedicated Children's Occupational Therapy team, delivering assessment and intervention within the home environment.


All about You

* Are you a compassionate and proactive professional with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with the HCPC?
* Do you have experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team?
* Can you bringstrong communicationand interpersonal skills to support children in social care?

You have significant experienceworking as a qualified Occupational Therapist, ideally within children's social care, and your robust communication and interpersonal skills enable you tooperateeffectively both autonomously and as part of a team. Your commitment to continuous professional development is matched by your passion for making a positive difference to children and their families.

Youpossessa range of transferrable skills from your current role, which you apply to provide holistic interventions that consider every aspect of a child's daily life, including their family, within their home environments.

Your independent, well-reasoned judgement and decision-making abilities are complemented by excellent communication skills, ensuring you are equipped to handle complex situations confidently and sensitively.

You will use highly specialist skills to assess the impact of a child's additionalneeds on their occupational performance through Occupational Therapy assessments tailored to children.

You will work collaboratively with other health andsocial care professionals to deliver comprehensive assessments and interventions that enhance the quality of life for children and families within Peterborough.

Please note this role is based in the community, it is essential that you hold a full driving license and have access to a car to complete home visits.
