Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Nurse to work as part of the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Community Learning Disability Team to achieve positive and effective health outcomes for people who have learning disabilities and mental health needs.
The successful candidate will be a 1st level Registered Learning Disability Nurse with experience in both inpatient and community settings, and an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Learning Disabilities with specialist knowledge and competency base in mental health of people with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist regarding the clinical and therapeutic work of those on the caseload.
* Demonstrate professional leadership and lead innovation through change, including service development.
* Hold a current full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
* If the post operates within Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone, you will be responsible for all costs associated with entering.
Qualifications
* 1st level Registered Learning Disability Nurse with experience in both inpatient and community settings.
* Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Learning Disabilities with specialist knowledge and competency base in mental health of people with learning disabilities.
* Good knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to this client group.
* Advanced communication skills.
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Participation in post-registration education, supervision and competencies (required).
