Job Role : Construction IQA Location : Worcester (Hybrid 3 days office-based) Salary : £32,000£35,000 Hours : Full-Time, MondayFriday Contract : Permanent Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) within the Construction / Building Services sector to support the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our apprenticeship and vocational programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with awarding organisations and regulatory bodies, supporting assessors and trainers, and maintaining outstanding quality assurance standards. This position requires a strong understanding of assessment principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback that supports continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance & Compliance Monitor and evaluate the quality of assessment practice across tutors and assessors. Conduct planned and risk-based sampling of learner portfolios, ensuring assessments are safe, fair, valid, reliable and consistent. Maintain full compliance with awarding organisations, Ofqual, Ofsted, ESFA and internal quality processes. Produce and maintain accurate IQA documentation including sampling plans, reports and records. Support preparation for External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits and implement recommended actions. Follow agreed procedures where concerns arise regarding assessment or delivery quality. Assessor & Trainer Support Identify development needs and support assessors and trainers with continuous improvement. Provide clear, constructive and developmental feedback to improve assessment practice. Lead and contribute to standardisation activities to promote consistent judgment and best practice. Share knowledge, skills and improvements across the team to enhance overall delivery quality. Learner Progress & Programme Quality Monitor learner progress to ensure timely achievement and consistent assessment standards. Support curriculum planning, including the development of schemes of work and assessment plans. Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout assessment and IQA practice. Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and risk mitigation strategies. Professional Conduct & Team Contribution Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Participate in staff training, development programmes and mandatory CPD. Attend team meetings, training sessions and standardisation events as required. Perform any additional duties consistent with the level and responsibilities of the role. Essential Criteria: Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent). Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent. Relevant occupational competence within Construction / Building Services. GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4. Desirable Criteria: Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET or higher). Sector-specific vocational qualifications (NVQ Level 3 in Construction / Building Services).
