Technical Author - Slaughterhouses and Animal By-products - UKBAT - 32429
Join the Environment Agency as a Technical Author for the UK BAT team. The role involves drafting BAT conclusions, liaising with technical working groups, and preparing UK‑wide environmental standards for large slaughterhouses and animal by‑products installations.
Responsibilities
* Draft technical documents and BAT conclusions for the slaughterhouse and animal by‑products industry.
* Liaise with technical working groups and stakeholders.
* Conduct technical analysis and critically evaluate technical arguments and data.
* Write clear, concise, and evidence‑based documents.
* Manage project activities and meet deadlines.
* Travel to industry sites as required.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years' experience working with environmental regulation in the slaughterhouse or related industry.
* Specialist knowledge of the slaughterhouse and animal by‑products industry.
* Strong understanding of process engineering, environmental issues, and UK/EU environmental legislation (IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations, etc.).
* Ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and develop technical arguments.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Project management skills and a drive to complete tasks.
