Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Temp - Potential to Go Permanent) Location: Tameside Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm The suitable candidate will have a proven background in Chemical/Adhesives industry or have a strong industry understanding of the repair of fluid dynamics, blending and batch processing equipment. You will have successfully implementing Engineering process improvements, developed preventative/predictive maintenance strategies alongside breakdown repairs, lean manufacturing, process improvement and health and safety all to the highest of standards. PRIMARY DUTIES The ability to operate independently, or in a team, with a hands-on, proactive approach: Main duties are: * Always focus on health and safety within the workplace * Maintaining & repairing plant / machinery using own skills and in combination with other personnel * All work undertaken is to be carried out to a high, professional standard * Provide & implement solutions and improvement ideas to resolve maintenance problems * Maintain planned maintenance system and computerized maintenance management system * Proactively organizing engineering workload using the maintenance management system * Co-ordinate maintenance work with plant supervisors to ensure priorities are met * Control and maintain spares stock levels & order replacements when required * Issue and monitor the permit to work system for site personnel and contractors * Responsible for the monitoring, organizing safe working of contractors on site * To be flexible and hands on when required * Report to the Engineering Manager on the day today workload and problems * Maintain good housekeeping and work safely Hours for contractor: * 8-4 days * Mon-Fri Salary: * Competitive & Negotiable
