Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in food production, along with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and managing staff.
* Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and food safety practices.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimise waste.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of presentation and taste.
* Handle any customer feedback or concerns regarding food quality or service.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
