Strategic Finance Director | Central Kent– Hybrid | £Six-Figure Package
Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working exclusively with a highly successful, Financial Services business whose Head Office is located in the centre of Kent. Due to a period of growth, this business is looking to strengthen their senior finance operation and leadership team with a Finance Director who will strategically support the Managing Director and wider Group Board.

On a day to day basis, you will partner closely with the MD and lead the finance team and complete a full review of current financial processes in order to identify areas of improvement, streamlining and enhancement of value add financial information as well as being hands on. You will also be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting of information, whilst partnering with the business in making commercially astute decisions and ensuring the delivery of the strategic plan.
Key responsibilities:
1. Leading the finance function, acting as a key member of the senior management team
2. Co-ordinating the budgeting, planning and forecasting processes
3. Overseeing cash flow reporting, bank account management and control of cash
4. Overseeing the month end process, including submission of the board pack, management accounts and supporting commentary
5. Implementing and producing key financial reports, KPI analysis and management information
6. Acting as a business partner, building relationships cross functionally
7. Managing the year end process, ensuring the timely production of statutory accounts and supporting documents
8. Adopting a continuous improvement approach to processes and controls, ensuring robust processes are in place
9. Managing relationships with external contacts such as year end auditors, the bank, insurers and HMRC
10. Ensuring compliance with all statutory bodies and completion of VAT returns
11. Managing ongoing projects and project requirements
12. Supporting the MD with ad-hoc reporting and project work
Candidates will be formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a proven track record operating at Finance Director level or an equivalent senior finance professional role within a medium sized Financial/Professional Services business .
Strong team management and development experience together with business partnering skills, the ability to be hands on and get into the detail but also support strategic business objectives and be involved in the direction of the business will be key.
