This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

The position of Process Engineer sits within the TFC Tritium Services Group. Our facilities are responsible for recycling tritium and the detritiation of exhaust gases from the JET Fusion Reactor or tritium containing experimental gloveboxes. The Group seeks individuals to complete work to a high standard according to established technical management processes and deliver solutions of engineering integrity commensurate with nuclear operations
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide technical support in the design, build, installation, test, commissioning and operation of tritium compatible fuel cycle systems, processes, and associated equipment.
* Identify and apply appropriate research, design, development, testing, inspection, and evaluation to decide on suitable engineering solutions in complex and representative environments.
* Prepare reports/data and documentation and present research findings through appropriate meetings and forums, and guide on relevant follow-up actions as defined by the project requirements.
* Coordinate timely and relevant procurement for equipment, components, and materials as and when appropriate, ensuring value for money and budget compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Prepare Work Control Packs (WCP), including Risk Assessments (RA) and Method Statement (MS) documentation for work onsite
* Maintain system records and design baseline including design, construction, operation, function via manuals, handbooks, maintenance history, P&IDs, work control packs and associated documentation.
* Communicate to staff via face to face or online presentations, provide technical reports where required. Adapt communication style to suit a broad range of situations and receivers.
* Work in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by your manager.
Qualifications
Essential
* Qualified to HNC/Degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline and/or prior experience in the design, commissioning and/or operation of experimental equipment and/or plant.
* Demonstrable experience with document management systems and/or technical control documentation
* Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Good planning, organising and time management skills including the ability to prioritise the workload
Desirable
* Understanding of radioactive materials or other hazardous materials including procedural and safety requirements.
* Experience of supervising work
* Experience of quality management systems in a technical environment.
* Chartered engineer or scientist or be able to demonstrate working at that level.
* Experience of system and process simulations to demonstrate feasibility including operational safety and efficiency, controls, risks, limitations, accessibility, and any other applicable requirements.
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
