At First Friends, we provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper to join our friendly team and help us maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our nursery.
The Role
As our Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nursery is welcoming, safe, and hygienic for children, families, and staff. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the nursery, including playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and staff areas.
Your daily duties will include:
* Carrying out routine and deep cleaning tasks to a high standard.
* Supporting infection control by sanitising equipment, toys, and surfaces.
* Managing laundry duties (washing, drying, ironing, and organising linen).
* Ensuring cleaning materials are used safely and stored securely.
* Reporting any maintenance or health & safety issues promptly.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in cleaning, housekeeping, or a similar role.
* Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
* A great team player who takes pride in their work.
* Committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for children.
Desirable but not essential:
* Previous experience in a nursery, school, or healthcare environment.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Food Hygiene or First Aid training (or willingness to complete).
