Buyer & Office Administrator What’s the job & who would it suit? We have a brilliant opportunity for a Buyer & Office Administrator to join us on a fixed term basis at SSC Laser in Hixon. The role is until approximately August 2026 with the possibility of transitioning to permanent depending on business needs. Where you’ll be working SSC is a successful, fast-paced manufacturing business, offering laser cutting and press brake services to a range of sectors across the UK. We take responsibility for what we do The team you’ll be working in Working within the Purchasing and Finance team, you will be an integral part of delivering a great service to a vast range of customers in all sectors. Besides your immediate peers, you will also work closely with our Sales, CAD and Operations teams on a day to day basis to ensure that we deliver a great result for both the customer and our business. What you’ll be doing So that you can get a feel for the job, here is what you will be doing day to day: Negotiating material prices with Suppliers to support Sales team. Building & maintaining strong relationships with Suppliers. Resolving any issues or disputes that may arise with Suppliers. Collaborating with other departments such as Sales, Production and Transport. Expediting to ensure products delivered on time. Reacting to any changes in customer demand / Supply chain availability. Processing purchase orders Responsible for the end to end process of purchasing goods or services, from raising orders to reviewing and reporting on supplier performance. General administration. Support the Finance team with data input, analysis and other accounts related tasks as required. Produce daily KPI reports for the management team. What you’ll need to succeed Need to know Experience in procurement or similar role would be desirable Some knowledge of accounts processes. Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel,outlook etc. Knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage but not essential. ​ Need to have Basic financial understanding Strong accuracy and attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Good organisational skills. Professional and proactive approach Ability to coordinate multiple tasks & priorities within a fast-paced environment..
