Overview
Repairs Surveyor role at Housing Solutions. Member of the Asset Management Team. Our repairs service to over 7,500 homes is delivered by our in-house repairs team together with specialist external contractors.
Responsibilities
* Deal with damp and mould problems, including diagnosis, raising orders for remedial work with our in-house repairs team or external contractors, and post-inspection. Provide advice to customers on how to avoid mould recurring.
* Handle general repair problems including complex repairs, resident alterations, and hazards identified through a stock condition survey. Prepare specifications and orders for the in-house team or external contractors. Specify work using measurements and schedule of rates as appropriate. For larger works, obtain competitive quotes or tenders.
* Support our response to disrepair claims, environmental health enquiries, insurance repairs, and defects in new-build schemes.
* Work as part of the Repairs Team (which includes the DLO) in the Asset Management Directorate, combining site and desk work. Work from home and at the Maidenhead office; use IT in a paperless office.
* Travel to sites from Maidenhead, with expected proximity (within 45 minutes) and using your own car for site visits. Parking and electric car charging are available at the office. Hybrid working is supported with attendance at the office at least once a week.
About You / Qualifications
* Experience in construction, property refurbishment, or technical facilities management.
* Confidence with figures, computer literacy, and clear communication. Strong customer focus. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Full UK driving licence and use of a roadworthy car insured for business use.
* Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
