Description
The Assistant File Handler (AFH) will work alongside a Lead File Handler managing a caseload of Hourly Rate Industrial Disease claims, including but not limited to NIHL, HAVS, CTS, WRULDs, and RTA claims involving Tinnitus, Acoustic Shock, Hearing Loss, BBPV, PPPD, Orthopaedic, Neurological, Psychological injuries, and other CIC cases.
Responsibilities include performing delegated tasks to advance case progression and resolution within the Complex Disease Litigation Department, handling fast and multi-track cases.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out tasks assigned by the File Handler, including ensuring compliance with client SLAs and court directions
* Draft Court Documents and negotiate on cases
* Attend telephone hearings and analyze evidence
* Report to clients and liaise with Counsel and experts
* Prepare bundles and maintain management information (MI)
* Achieve set chargeable targets and ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations

Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. The primary location for this role is Bolton, Parklands Office.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in claims handling, either pre-litigation or litigated
* Understanding of the litigation process
* Ability to work under instruction from a Lead File Handler
