Material Planner Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States Employment Type: Full-time Overview This position is responsible for ensuring a consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production based on demand. Duties and Responsibilities Plan the required materials and purchase quantities to fulfill demand of service line. Submit workorders. Utilize SAP, Excel and Microsoft Office 365. Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient. Coordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc. Track the shipping status and ensure the shipment will arrive on time. Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products. Liaise with purchasing department, broker, carrier, etc. for the schedule, ETD, ETA of shipments. Manage materials issues, schedule changes, and cancellations. Prepare reports accurately on a weekly basis. Act as warehouse coordinator to plan, schedule, coordinate and expedite material issue to the production floor. Perform other duties as assigned. Skill/Knowledge Requirements: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365. Must have hands-on experience in SAP. Must have great interpersonal communication skills. Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills. Proven ability to function independently and be able to multi-task. Education and Experience Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have at least two (2) to three (3) years of material planning experience, in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to speak Mandarin / Chinese is highly preferred.
