Automation Test Engineer • Sogeti

We are hiring an Automation Test Engineer for our Quality Engineering and Test Practice, driving impactful value creation for our clients.
Location: Anywhere in the UK. Hybrid working: Your daily work will mix Company offices, client sites, and home – you will not work from home 100% of the time.
Pre‑employment checks include identity, nationality or immigration status, employment history for the last three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
Essential Skills
* Experience in creating effective automation test strategies and plans.
* Automation using at least two proprietary or open source tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Tricentis Tosca.
* Creating or adapting automation frameworks.
* Familiarity with at least one OOP language (Java, Python, C#).
* Writing test scripts in a BDD environment using Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar.
* Managing and maintaining test assets in GIT and other repositories.
* Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments.
* Hands‑on experience with various test types (manual and automation) such as Functional, API, web, and mobility.
* CI / CD pipeline experience using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar, and integrating automation assets into the pipeline.
* Managing a small team of test engineers.
* Collaboration with developers, testers, analysts, architects, and other members across the organisation.
* ISTQB or equivalent certification at foundation level or willingness to obtain an ISTQB Foundation after joining (exam cost covered).
Mandatory Skills
* Proficiency in an OOP language such as Java, Python, or C#.
* Functional test tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Tricentis Tosca.
* Test management tools such as Jira, TFS, or OpenText ALM.
* Experience in waterfall, agile, and DevOps environments.
* Other tooling such as Postman, Ready API, or Soap UI.
* Data masking and data subsetting.
* BDD approaches using tooling such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
