Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of the construction industry to provide accurate cost estimates and maintain budgetary compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Duties assisting with the following
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are adhered to.
* Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
* Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
* Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to stakeholders.
* Assist in resolving any discrepancies or disputes related to costs during the project execution.
Skills either current or willing to learn
* Proficient in cost control methodologies and techniques within the construction sector.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and project management.
