This position is a key role in within the JD UK Finance reporting team. As the Head Office Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, budgets, and reforecasts for head office cost centres.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
* Preparation of the monthly management accounts for head office cost centres including variance analysis, with supporting commentary and evidence for any variances to budget/forecast
* Preparation of monthly cost review packs
* Preparation of annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for head office cost centres
* Responsible for ensuring all costs relating to group companies are recharged monthly and resolving any queries raised
* Responsible for posting payroll journals, expenses and Barclaycard expenses
* Production and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Implementation of controls in line with the Group’s Financial controls programme
* Assist with audit queries
* Ad hoc project work as required
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
* Part Qualified CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA accountant
* Experience of management accounting essential
* Very strong analytical skills required to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall department performance
* Excellent attention to detail
* Desire to simplify processes and strive for continuous improvements
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
* Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
* Ability to work under your own initiative
* Advanced Excel skills, Oracle EBS, TM1 experience not essential but an advantage
* Retail industry experience desirable
