We have an exciting opportunity to join Sussex Police as a Crime Investigator PIP2 working on a temporary contract at their location in Worthing.

Successful applicants will support Operation Bramber. This is an investigation into potential offences at a large medical establishment in Sussex. These cases are impactful on the families of victims and survivors. You will be part of a team thoroughly investigating allegations to bring offenders to justice and ensure public safety.
Operation Bramber involves Detectives and Criminal Investigators dedicated to this investigation. We are examining cases concerning the treatment and care of patients.

The role involves gathering evidence that supports or refutes a suspect's involvement. Tasks may include:
* Using communication skills to reassure victims or witnesses, secure statements, and implement safety measures.
* Collecting or submitting items for forensic analysis that could lead to a conviction.
* Viewing CCTV footage that may be key to charging a suspect.
* Preparing case files for court with attention to detail to facilitate successful prosecutions.
As PIP2 Investigators, you will support the investigation team and pursue enquiries to prove or disprove allegations, helping to keep victims safe.
Investigators will be based at Centenary House, Worthing, with some flexibility required. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, 0800-1600 or 0900-1700, with possible adjustments in consultation with supervisors.
Skills & Experience
You should be capable of handling challenging situations involving vulnerable adults, demonstrating confidence and resilience. Being a team player with initiative and problem-solving skills is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to share both positive and difficult information. You should be able to plan, organize, and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
You must be committed to fairness, honesty, trustworthiness, and acting with integrity.
Using your initiative, you will develop action plans and make decisions regarding your tasks.
Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and prioritize is vital.
Emotional resilience is crucial when dealing with vulnerable individuals and challenging situations.
