Electrical Maintenance Engineer (CNC Machines)
Working for our client, a Sheffield-based Machining Technology business, supporting customers in providing machine tools and machine tool service within various industries including nuclear, defence, power generation, offshore oil and gas, and aerospace.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Lead Engineer, as an Electrical Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer, you will be based onsite in Sheffield's Machine Shops. You will be responsible for tasks as part of a maintenance team to ensure plant and equipment reliability by undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM). This includes ensuring the availability of supplies, materials, and parts to keep equipment operational while minimizing production disruptions.
Scope of the Job:
The Electrical Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer is responsible for:
* Equipment and facilities breakdowns and corrective actions.
* Planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
* Meeting KPIs in the operational department by working towards set objectives and specifications.
* Supporting new project implementation and equipment installation.
* Appraising equipment condition, refurbishment, and implementing continuous improvement activities.
* Developing personal skills and capabilities.
* Maintaining accurate documentation and records via the Spidex CMMS system.
* Collaborating with the Engineering Team to plan maintenance work effectively.
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting operational targets by maintaining equipment uptime and availability.
* Liaising with Service Management and Production to resolve equipment issues promptly.
* Diagnosing and fixing electronic, electrical, and mechanical faults.
* Supporting breakdown repairs across shifts to minimize downtime.
* Conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
* Managing maintenance stock parts accurately.
* Leading interdepartmental projects as assigned.
* Covering for other maintenance engineers during holidays and absences.
* Ensuring all actions conform to quality procedures and work instructions.
* Using the Spidex Maintenance Management system effectively.
* Providing timely updates to management on maintenance tasks.
Shift pattern: Morning (6am - 2pm), Afternoon (2pm - 10pm), Night (10pm - 6am). 40 hours per week, including breaks. Max shift length: 12 hours.
Salary: £24.59 per hour. Overtime paid at the same rate.
