Overview
ITU Sister / Charge Nurse - Band 7 (Critical Care) at The Princess Grace Hospital, London, within the Intensive Care Unit (Critical Care).
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical guidance and lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care from admission through discharge in a 9-bed Level 3 ICU.
* Lead and support junior nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues; oversee efficient use of resources and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
* Drive audits, research, and service improvement initiatives; educate staff in theoretical knowledge and practical skills for managing critically ill patients.
* Support Critical Care Outreach and contribute to patient safety, continuity of care, and rapid response for deteriorating patients.
* Uphold professional standards and engage in continuous development as part of the role.
Qualifications
* Current experience working in an ITU/ICU setting, with proven leadership and in-charge responsibilities
* NMC registration as a qualified nurse in the UK
* 60 Critical Care Credits, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and commitment to professional development
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, with strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
* Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced critical care environment
* Advanced assessment qualification (desirable)
* Mentorship training or teaching experience (desirable)
