An experienced Process Engineer with a background in ultra-high-purity materials processing is sought to drive forward a Process Innovation plan with an established manufacturing business.
The key focus of the role is to lead and drive improvements in key processes ensuring the development and implementation of innovative techniques and technologies to enhance yield, quality, throughout and to ensure process differentiation, compliance with stringent quality requirements, and aligning innovation efforts with customer and market needs. The role focuses on process optimization, material integrity, and advanced product performance, balancing cutting-edge technical development with robust industrial scalability.
Process Innovation & engineering including R&D, Technology Road mapping, product and new application development
Taking prototypes, trials or new innovations through to production
Identify and implement novel process technologies for superior quality, defect minimization, and thermal/optical property enhancements.
Explore advanced sensor systems and AI/ML for in-process control and predictive quality.
Partner with Quality and Analytical teams to validate process changes via SPC, Cpk, and FTIR/ICP-MS data
Work with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams to align innovation with operational and commercial goals.
Liaise with external research institutes, OEMs, and material suppliers for co-development opportunities.
Lead and manage multiple process innovation projects using methodologies such as DMAIC, Six Sigma, and Agile/Stage-Gate.
Develop business cases, risk assessments, and implementation plans for innovations. The successful candidate will be degree qualified in an Engineering or Scientific discipline (ideally Electronics, Microelectronics, Experimental Physics, Materials Science., Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. You will need substantial process engineering or materials R&D experience and have some experience of high-purity material processing.
Knowledge of some of the following processes is needed inductive heating for materials manufacturing, Vapour Deposition Methods, electrical melting/fusion technologies, high-temperature thermal processing, fluid mechanic, thermos-physics or automation.
