Material Planner / Analyst
Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for an organised and analytical Material Planner / Analyst to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment within the automotive supply sector.
Working as part of the MP&L team, you will play a key role in ensuring material availability aligns with customer demand while supporting production continuity and operational efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong planning skills, advanced Excel capability, and experience working within a dynamic manufacturing or automotive environment.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable, and confident communicating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily communication with customers regarding schedule changes and delivery requirements
* Ensure material inventory levels meet customer demand and production schedules
* Forecast demand using sales forecasts and customer scheduling information
* Coordinate with internal production and subcontract supply teams to maintain continuity of supply
* Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions and operational capacity
* Minimise obsolete stock and reduce business liability
* Liaise closely with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate dispatches and deliveries
* Create and maintain regular reports, data analysis, and planning updates
* Convert and manipulate customer schedules from portals, spreadsheets, and emails into internal planning formats
* Communicate any customer demand changes or supply constraints across departments
About You

Has previous experience in a material planning, supply chain, or analyst role
Ideally has experience within the automotive or manufacturing sector
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Has excellent communication and organisational skills
Can manage priorities effectively and work independently
Is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving
Is flexible and adaptable to changing business demands
Skills & Experience
Essential
Previous experience in a similar planning or analyst role
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and reporting capability
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines effectively
Good organisational and time-management skills
Desirable
Automotive industry experience
Experience working with customer scheduling systems and forecasting tools
