About us
We are an organization committed to continuous improvement, driven by a determination to deliver high-quality care that satisfies our patients. We are no longer in special measures; we have opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH). Our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.
Our main sites are KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We operate two busy emergency departments, serving over 330,000 visitors annually. We are campaigning for £35 million to transform the A&E at Queen's Hospital and eliminate corridor care.
Our facilities include the Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. These CDCs operate 12 hours daily, 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually.
Our staff, over 8,000 from 146 countries, reflect the diversity of our communities. Many staff work flexibly, and over 400 are enrolled in Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer. We are also introducing an electronic patient record system to enhance staff efficiency and patient care.
