Rossendale School is recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant!

We are seeking a passionate individual to ensure our sites are safe and comfortable, covering all aspects of the Kitchen Assistant role. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the homes, with a flexible approach and the ability to respond quickly to requests for assistance.

Rossendale is a day school catering to pupils who are autistic and academically able. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan. The school provides education for students aged 7 to 18 years, with Key stages 3 and 4 based on the main site, and Key stages 2 and 5 at our community-based Campus. We offer a range of GCSEs, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN, Entry Level qualifications, and A-level courses. Despite disruptions, our pupils have achieved outstanding examination results. The school admits both boys and girls.

All applicants must hold a full UK driving licence due to the location and requirements of the role.

An Level 3 qualification or equivalent is essential, along with experience in preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen, and the following qualities:

Communication: Effective communication with young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication are key to relaying important information to staff.

Organisation: Confidence and organization are necessary for updating menus, managing dietary requirements, and reporting relevant information for the care of our young people.

Attentiveness: Recognizing that each young person is unique, being attentive to their needs and areas where support is needed is important.
