Service& Maintenance Engineer
Eaton Syalon are supporting a well established engineering business in their search for a Service& Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Marston, Grantham.
The role is in a great location for candidates based in Grantham, Lincoln, Newark or the surrounding areas.
This role requires a strong understanding of complex mechanical and control systems, as you’ll be supporting technical queries and delivering effective, solution-led responses.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded professional with experience in mechanical diagnostics, repair coordination or service delivery - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and takes pride in providing high-quality engineering support. The role will be partially based on the road!
* Collaborate with internal departments including Commercial Operations, Sales, Field Services and Operations to deliver seamless service.
* Manage incoming service orders, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and clear order transfer to internal planning teams.
* Communicate daily with customers regarding repair status, turnaround schedules, and service quality.
* Coordinate field inspections, customer site visits, and support training on maintenance practices as needed.
* Produce detailed as-found condition reports and assist in warranty clarification and resolution processes.
* Support turnaround projects with data gathering, technical input, and quote preparation.
* Ensure all activity complies with company policies, health & safety standards, and customer service KPIs.
* Act as the technical lead for repair and service enquiries, advising customers on diagnostics, performance and options for remedial work.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience preparing service quotations and handling customer enquiries in an engineering environment.
* Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - and a confident, professional manner.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of ERP systems
* A proactive and organised mindset, with high attention to detail and a focus on delivering quality.
* A technical qualification or proven hands-on experience in a service, maintenance, or engineering coordination role within a technical or industrial environment.
* Strong technical understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including automated components and industrial control equipment.
