Base pay range
Express Recruitment are currently working with a leading education institution who are based in the Midlands. Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineering specialist to support apprenticeship students develop an understanding of Health and Safety for a range of equipment, inclusive of new CNC machines and lathes. The successful candidate will be working alongside the Nuclear Engineering Technical specialist, supporting a newly established, state of the art Engineering Academy.
It's an exciting time to join our client, as they go through a period of growth due to success, and they are offering a generous salary of up to c£35,000. * Maintain all equipment and workshop spaces, always adhering to all Health and Safety regulations
* Ensure Health and Safety Risk Assessments are completed efficiently for new students starting their courses
* Offer guidance to apprenticeship students, focused on Engineering equipment (operating of CNC machines for milling/turning)
* Assist with assessments of student development on a periodic basis, discuss any concerns with Team Manager
* Develop training plans and activities to deliver to students, considering individual learning style
Skills & Background
* Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject
* Demonstratable practical experience on workshop machinery, including welding
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics and mechatronic systems
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Ability to work with young adults from all backgrounds
* Risk and COSHH assessment training essential
