Job Overview
The Cornwall Foundation Trust’s Countywide Adult Eating Disorder Service is seeking an experienced core professional from a Social Work or Mental Health Nursing background to join our multidisciplinary team. The role is community‑based and involves managing liaison, discharge and step‑downs from general and specialist eating disorder units, providing bespoke time‑limited interventions, coordinating with partner agencies, and delivering clinical advice and supervision within an evidence‑based framework.
Responsibilities
* Manage liaison, discharge and step‑downs from general and specialist eating disorder units, including 72‑hour follow‑ups and intensive short‑term home support.
* Hold a fluctuating caseload, providing bespoke, time‑limited interventions and wellbeing support for clients, including those on waiting lists.
* Facilitate early engagement courses with dietetic and psychology colleagues.
* Provide one day per week of clinician advisory support and contribute to initial assessments on a rotational basis.
* Complete monthly initial assessment slots (urgent and routine), clinical risk and mental health assessments, formulation and short‑term contingency planning.
* Offer clinical supervision to embedded VSCE colleagues and supervise junior staff.
* Attend management, professional, safeguarding, tribunal, ward round and discharge planning meetings as required.
* Support Mental Health Act processes when required and work within MDT and safeguarding frameworks using evidence‑based practice.
* Provide clinical advice and support to the administrative team and attend relevant professional meetings.
* Travel frequently across Cornwall to provide care in various locations, including those not accessible by public transportation.
Qualifications & Eligibility
* Experienced core professional with a Social Work or Mental Health Nursing background.
* Current employee of one of the following NHS organisations: Cornwall Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board.
* Ability to travel extensively within Cornwall and surrounding areas.
* Registered with the relevant professional body and able to manage risk, safeguarding and evidence‑based practice.
