HR Business Partner - Employee Relations – 12-Month FTC
Location: York (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 – £48,000
We’re seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our client's team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based in York with hybrid working, this is an exciting opportunity to work within a large, people-focused organisation made up of independent businesses across the UK.
The Role
You'll play a critical role in supporting managers with complex employee relations matters—performance, grievance, disciplinary, restructures, and conflict resolution—while contributing to broader HR strategy and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage complex ER cases and provide expert advice
* Support organisational change and HR initiatives
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
* Maintain accurate ER records and provide data insights
* Deliver training to upskill managers in ER matters
* Foster strong stakeholder relationships, including trade union engagement
What You’ll Bring:
* Strong ER experience and confident handling of complex cases
* Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Ability to influence, advise, and lead HR initiatives
* Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management
* Experience with trade unions is a plus
* CIPD qualified or working towards it
