We’re looking for a proactive, experienced support worker to help reduce rough sleeping and prevent repeat homelessness across Buckinghamshire. This frontline role involves engaging with people sleeping rough and those at risk of returning to the streets, providing practical, person-centred support to secure and sustain accommodation.
You’ll work closely with local authorities, landlords, and voluntary agencies to help clients address housing, health, wellbeing, and financial challenges, enabling long-term stability and successful community integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out outreach to rough sleepers and respond to referrals
Conduct holistic assessments of housing, health, and support needs, and create tailored support plans
Support clients into emergency, temporary, and long-term accommodation
Provide intensive casework to sustain tenancies and prevent returns to the streets
Offer advice on housing options, welfare benefits, tenancy rights, and access to health and treatment services
Advocate on behalf of clients and help them navigate statutory and voluntary services
Promote financial independence and life skills (, budgeting, daily living skills)
Maintain confidential, inclusive, and flexible support across face-to-face, phone, and digital channels
You’ll need:
Experience in homelessness or floating support, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with a person-centred, motivational approach.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced DBS check due to working with children and young people.
