Senior Coastal Engineer at Mott MacDonald
Location
Southampton, Croydon, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol (regional sites with hybrid working)
Responsibilities
* Lead specialist and multi‑disciplinary teams through the entire project life‑cycle, from feasibility and economic assessment of coastal processes to detailed design and construction documentation.
* Conduct metocean and hydrodynamic investigations, and develop coastal zoning, offshore renewables and cable routing solutions.
* Prepare tender documents, specifications, BOQs, and construction drawings, and manage the tender process up to contract award.
* Provide project management support, including resourcing, programming, commercial and contractual oversight, risk and quality management.
* Support new business development, drafting proposals and participating in bid submissions to grow the Ports, Coastal and Offshore portfolio.
Candidate Specification
* Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Chartered engineer status (ICE / IStructE / CIWEM or equivalent).
* Extensive experience delivering coastal engineering projects with innovative, digitally driven techniques.
* Strong project management background, comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and liaising with stakeholders.
* Excellent written communication skills – able to produce technical reports and deliver presentations.
* Knowledge of contract types and procurement processes.
* Willingness to travel overseas for project assignments as required.
