About this Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more.

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

If you are someone who is passionate about their job, enjoys working with young people and is determined to make a real difference to the children, then this could be the job for you.

We are looking for an outstanding Learning and Behaviour Mentor to join this forward-thinking academy for a period of 6 months with the potential to extend. We are seeking to employ staff who have a thirst to develop young people to build teams committed to academic and pastoral success. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in influencing positive learning outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for students at risk of exclusion or underachievement.
* Support the emotional well-being, social development, and behavioural progress of identified students.
* Act as a consistent and trusted key adult, building professional relationships that make a lasting impact.
* Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and sharing relevant information with staff.
* Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral, and SEN teams to implement behaviour support plans.
* Support reintegration and restorative meetings following behavioural incidents or suspensions.
* Supervise internal exclusion or withdrawal spaces as needed.
* Model positive behaviour, de-escalation strategies, and emotional regulation throughout the school.

Our success to date is due to the fact we live and breathe our CARE values of Courage, Ambition, Respect and Excellence. These values help to determine our strong culture and create a climate in which every member of the school community is able to develop and improve. We are relentlessly positive and passionately care about the community that we serve.

Why Work for Ormiston?

Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.

We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, your work will have purpose and meaning.

Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…

* The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive

* Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve

* Being part of a team and community where you belong – being part of a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities

* A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits

We offer a competitive package of benefits for our staff including:

* A network of exceptional support staff, teachers, middle and senior leaders.
* A supportive and collaborative working environment.
* The opportunity to achieve career development through excellent CPD opportunities (at a trust and school level)
* Vivup – lifestyle saving, cycle to work scheme, car salary sacrifice scheme, and employee assistance programme
