Offer description

Introduction

Sprink's vision is that we create health through understanding and personalising value. Over the next 20 years, we are aiming to build a portfolio of companies that support realising this vision. Sprink will be the parent, and we will establish a range of subsidiary companies.

Currently, Sprink has three areas of focus:

* PerEmpo Technology. Our technology enables the capture of patient's values and goals, measurement of the impact of their health on their values and goals and aggregation of the data. Health care systems, governments and pharmaceutical companies in Australia, UK and USA use PerEmpo. PerEmpo implementation is supported by our virtual education programme.
* Commissioned research studies. We run research studies which include (i) clinical research using our PerEmpo technology and (ii) qualitative research studies, typically involving the Delphi methodology.
* Global Forum. We run a Global Forum every 18 months focused on "Creating Health Through Understanding and Personalising Value". Our next Global Forum will be delivered on the 4th and 5th December 2025 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow. See:

We have recently established our first subsidiary company, Sprink Food. This is fully owned by Sprink with a focus on creating health through supporting people to make informed decisions about the healthiness of the food they are eating. Sprink Food is focused on developing a novel technology which we aim to launch in 2027.

Our values as an organisation

Everyone who joins Sprink and/or one of our subsidiary companies must share our values:

* Integrity. We are honest and trustworthy.
* Professionalism. We work with the greatest care and attention to detail. We recognise our strengths and weaknesses, and we know our limits. We value difference and diversity. We work as a team.
* Sustainability. We work in a way that minimises our carbon footprint and that supports the social fabric of the societies in which we operate. We support our team members to achieve their personal and professional goals.
* Kindness. We are kind to our colleagues, partners and customers.
* Courageous. We are courageous, innovative and constantly pushing boundaries, all in the pursuit of creating health through understanding and personalising value.

Role description

We are now seeking a talented Research Assistant who will join Sprink Food, with a focus on conducting critical research to inform the development of our novel technology.

In this role, we envisage four primary areas of responsibility:

* Conducting a systematic review of the scientific literature, with a focus on answering specific research questions.
* Conducting interviews with specific key opinion leaders.
* Synthesising the findings from the systematic review of the literature and the interviews.
* Working with the Sprink Food team to apply the findings to the development of the novel product.

Knowledge and skills

We are looking for exceptional, talented, ambitious people whose values align fully with the values of Sprink.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Demonstrated expertise in performing systematic reviews of scientific literature.
* An understanding of the methodologies and frameworks that must be followed when performing systematic literature views.
* Demonstrated expertise in synthesising findings.
* Demonstrated expertise in conducting interviews with key opinion leaders.
* Demonstrated ability to produce work to the very highest standard, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure, meeting set deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently using initiative, with appropriate guidance from senior colleagues.

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate with a minimum of a Master's level degree. However, this is not essential, providing you can demonstrate exceptional ability in meeting each of the points above.

Professional interests

This opportunity is perfect for a researcher who is passionate about applying research findings to develop novel technology to transform our societies from 'sick' to 'healthy' societies. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy working as part of a diverse team, and are dedicated to developing products and solutions that positively impact people's lives. Additionally, you are excited about shaping an innovative product and taking ownership of critical early research decisions.

Logistics

* A part-time position at 0.6 FTE. Exact working days and working hours are flexible.
* You must have the right to work in the UK.
* Hybrid working with the ability to commute to an office in Edinburgh, UK
