Fabricator
Mechanic / Fabricator / Farm Hand – Ipswich – £40,000 + Accommodation
The Job: A full time, permanent position is available for an experienced and adaptable Mechanic / Fabricator / Farm Hand. The role is primarily workshop based, focusing on maintenance, repair and fabrication, with additional duties in yard operations and occasional tractor driving during busy periods. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking for a varied role within a progressive agricultural business.
Key Responsibilities
 * Carry out maintenance, servicing, and mechanical repairs on agricultural machinery and equipment
 * Fabricate and modify parts using welding and cutting techniques (MIG/TIG/ARC)
 * Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems
 * Perform gas cutting and general metalworking tasks
 * Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
 * Support yard operations and supervise activities when required
 * Assist with tractor driving and general farm work during peak periods

The Candidate
 * Proven experience as a mechanic, fabricator, or technician in an agricultural or heavy machinery environment
 * Skilled in welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance
 * Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems
 * Relevant mechanical or welding qualifications preferred
 * Self-motivated and able to work independently
 * Flexible and willing to assist with a range of farm and yard duties
 * Practical problem-solver with a proactive, hands-on attitude
