We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.
HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.
HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

* Training development opportunities

Hours:
* Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week
* Service is open from 8am - 6pm
* 37.5 hours can be done over 4 or 5 days
* One weekend every 6-8 weeks
Salary:
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £33232- £40211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic
experiences and may be distressed
* Assess patient's health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
* You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
* Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
* You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams
and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required:
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
