Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN)

Dover Behavioral Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. The Infection Control Nurse is a key member of Dover Behavioral Health System who will lead the infection control and employee health programs with a keen focus on patient care and employee wellness.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
* Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Medical Director, responsible for patient and employee illnesses and monitors infections
* Serve as a key member of the hospital infection control committee, as well as deliver infection control metrics and data to the Management Team, Quality Council, Patient Safety Committee and other facility committees
* Ensure that all employees are in compliance with required screenings and infection control educations
* Maintain the Flu and COVID programs for the facility
* Meet all Joint Commission, CMS, state and local regulatory requirements and present during audits and surveys
* Communicate with referral sources and family members in the patients' interest, complying with all HIPAA and patient rights standards and policies
* Develop, implement, update and enforce the hospital's infection control policies and procedures
* Conducts infection control related training sessions, and develop a system to ensure staff are receiving annual training and stay abreast of industry changes
* Facilitate company wide and nursing department orientation; Identify competency of staff and provide follow-up action to remedy deficiencies related to infection control
* Conducts environmental tours of the facility to ensure facility is meeting infection control standards
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse License with relevant Bachelor's degree
* APIC certification when eligible
* One year clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population and 2 years' experience in Infection Control preferred.
