Overview
We are seeking a Transport Administrator to join our client’s transport and logistics team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a professional and collaborative team within a fast-paced, structured environment, where organisation and attention to detail are highly valued.
Location: Stow-on-the-Wold
Salary: £25,000-£30,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexibility may be required depending on operational needs.
Holiday: 30 days inclusive of UK Bank Holidays (all Bank Holidays must be booked in advance)
Key Responsibilities
* Manage incoming and outgoing transport documentation, including PODs, invoices, and delivery notes.
* Ensure timely processing, validation, and archiving of PODs.
* Coordinate delivery schedules and updates with drivers and third-party carriers.
* Track deliveries and maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
* Update internal systems daily with transport status and records.
* Liaise with warehouse staff, suppliers, and customers to resolve queries.
* Ensure all documentation is filed and stored according to compliance requirements.
* Support the Operations Manager in maintaining transport records for audits.
* Prepare weekly and monthly reports on deliveries and transport KPIs.
* Escalate unresolved or critical issues to the Operations Manager.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in transport, logistics, or administrative roles (preferred)
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) is an advantage
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Problem-solving mindset and proactive attitude
