About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading one of the Research Development Faculty facing teams within Research and Innovation Services (RIS). The Team provides advice and professional support to the University's academic staff in their pursuit of research and knowledge exchange funding. This post will lead one of the Research Development and Initiatives Teams and support the development of a successful portfolio of research awards.
* Line manage the team, providing academic-facing support to deliver a high quality and effective research support service that assists in the planning, development and delivery of high-quality research and knowledge exchange applications.
* Oversee award acceptance, review of relevant contract terms and coordination of contract negotiation and associated due diligence, sanctions and export license checks.
* Identify and update processes and procedures in the delivery of support to stakeholders, enhancing the quality and financial sustainability of research proposals.
About You
You will work across RIS and professional services divisions to draw in expertise as necessary for the delivery of their work. You will manage your own workload and step into advising and supporting colleagues when needed. You will offer and seek creative solutions and be an effective communicator, representing the University externally with key stakeholders.

Visa Sponsorship
This role has been assigned the SOC code 2439 Business, research and administrative professionals not elsewhere classified. Sponsorship is only possible as follows:
* If the successful candidate’s initial Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) was issued before 4 April 2024, the salary requirement of the SOC code is £43,200, which the post at Grade 8.1 meets.
* If the CoS was issued after that date or the candidate is new, the salary requirement is £56,600. The candidate would need to use transferable points, if eligible, to meet the requirement. Sponsorship depends on individual circumstances and offered salary.
