Overview
EQUANS are looking for a Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical) working on Burnley General Teaching Hospital contract. This is a permanent full-time role, 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
This position is a multi-skilled technician based at BGTH with an approved electrical bias. The Multi-Skilled Engineer will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance standards within the contract. They will provide guidance to others on site, demonstrating technical expertise in electrical systems to ensure compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The engineer will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area, with an electrical bias.
Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations, and help achieve our health & safety targets.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through the Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, and identify any additional works required.
* Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.
* Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of EQUANS in the workplace.
* Carry out and assist in planned and reactive maintenance on site systems.
* Be flexible with working hours, which may include shifts and overtime by arrangement.
* Participate in the on-call rota.
* Administer and complete relevant paperwork.
* Adopt a fair, consistent, and courteous attitude in dealings at all levels.
* Work under pressure, take ownership of problems, and bring them to resolution.
* Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Manager/Estates Manager.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Experience in facilities management and general electrical maintenance.
* Recognised electrical apprenticeship and/or qualifications.
* Ability to maintain, service and repair a wide range of building services, including:
o Lighting and small power
o Low voltage electrical distribution systems and switchgear
o Emergency standby generators
o Fire alarm systems
o General and emergency lighting
o Building Management Systems, ventilation and air conditioning
o LTHW heating boilers and pumps
o Domestic hot and cold water systems
* Valid UK driving license and ability to obtain DBS check.
* Fully qualified electrician; qualified to IEE 18th edition.
* Testing and certification of electrical installations (Desirable).
* Basic computer literacy.
* Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
* Sound knowledge of health & safety.
* Experience of working within a healthcare environment is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to follow instructions, work to plans (method statements), communicate, present and report technical information appropriately to the trade/skill.
Required Qualifications
* Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant qualifications.
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
* City & Guilds 2392 – Inspection & Testing or equivalent (Desirable).
* City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring regulations.
