The Opportunity
In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overarching direction & leadership of activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will lead/manage a group of Senior Project Managers and Managers, ensuring delivery of scope including Earthworks, Enabling works (UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. The role involves managing a matrix team of wider disciplines, including the nuclear new build supply chain, quality teams, and suppliers.
This role will also assist in developing strategies for delivering scope to cost, schedule, and quality, and ensure operational delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in line with the overall project schedule.
Key responsibilities will be:
* Define work scope and interfaces within contracts or packages of work.
* Secure resources to meet project requirements, maintain SQEP, and address personnel issues.
* Provide direction to ensure effective execution of strategies and plans.
* Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
* Drive contract or package activity delivery safely, on time, within budget, and meeting requirements.
* Monitor progress, track milestones, and report to the Site Delivery Leadership team.
* Identify risks, resolve issues, and update project plans and budgets.
* Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure scope delivery.
* Apply Continuous Improvement principles and capture lessons learned.
* Coordinate with other programmes for overall project progress and best practices.
* Fulfill contractual requirements of contracts or packages.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the project team.
Qualifications
* Proven track record in delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, ideally within Nuclear Energy.
* Experience engaging stakeholders and managing contractors, consultants, and advisors.
* Strong management skills including project, financial, change management, and facilitation.
* Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools.
* Knowledge of managing large, complex construction projects, including NEC and FIDIC contracts.
* Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and organizational skills.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
* Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Experience with Project Management methodologies such as APM and Prince2.
* Experience managing projects from concept to handover.
