Join us as a Loans Lawyer at Barclays where you will be part of a dynamic legal team working on a variety of transactional and non-transactional matters. This role will support the business teams and related functions, focusing on:
* corporate loans, complex investment grade lending, acquisition and bridge financing, leveraged lending (including financial sponsors and super senior arrangements alongside unitranche lending), and project finance
* Managing legal risks on transactions and considering the commercial implications of solutions
In addition to transactional work, you will lead or provide expertise for regulatory and change projects, actively manage legal governance and controls, and contribute to their improvement. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with legal and business colleagues across the UK Corporate Bank and Investment Bank.
Key Skills Required:
* UK qualified solicitor with experience in leading lending transactions, including leveraged lending with financial sponsors, project finance, acquisition financing, or super senior transactions
* Strong familiarity with Loan Market Association documentation such as facilities agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related ancillary documents
Additional Valued Skills:
* Experience with a magic or silver circle firm with a global practice
* Knowledge of markets like property, telecoms, utilities, project, infrastructure, and general corporate
* In-house legal experience (useful but not essential)
The role may involve assessment on skills such as risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technological proficiency, alongside job-specific technical skills.
This position can be based in Birmingham or Manchester.
